Bad News: The Dine With a Diva for this Saturday, June 9, has been postponed, once it's rescheduled we'll let you know the details.

Good News: You can still purchase tickets for "An Affair To Remember" the benefit for the Boys and Girls Club of the Diablo Valley. The venue is the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 45 John Glenn Drive, Concord - time: 5:30 pm for Silent Auction - 7:00 pm for a Gourmet Dinner - 8:00 pm for the Live Auction. Each person who arrives prior to 6:00 pm will be entered in a drawing for $250 of Shell Gasoline! Call: 925.228.3896 for reservations or www.bgcdv.org.

Also on Saturday's Calendar for art lovers is "Black, White, and a Splash of Color". Martinez Artists Lorena Castillo, Sally Ann Rodriguez, and Carol Rose Adams will have a show at Colorz Hair Gallery - 1815 Mt. Diablo Blvd. Walnut Creek - from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Saturday's activities also include a Campfire Program at the John Muir National Historic Site, 7:00 pm. Rangers will lead the group in songs, skits, and stories to celebrate the legacy of John Muir. Bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets and the desire for a great time. For additional information: 925.228.8860.

On June 9 and 10 Outcast Cat Help is hosting a FREE cat/kitten adoption to qualified homes for the 3rd Annual Maddie's Matchmaker Adoptathon. They will have darling kittens and awesome adults like the Big Bopper, Lucy and Harrison! Each kitty adopted comes with a goodie bag and a carrier. The adoptions will be held at the Martinez Animal Hospital, 5055 Alhambra Avenue from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The main reason I don't go to any of the businesses downtown is the lack of parking. What littleRead More there is is taken up by the owners of these establishments. God forbid they park somewhere else less convenient so actual paying customers can frequent their businesses.
