Everyone is invited to "Exultate Deo", a piano, flute, and songs vespers concert featuring the works of Bach, Ibert, Chopin, Mendelssohn, and other sacred/inspirational compositions. This free concert will be on Saturday, August 18, at 4:30 pm, at the Grace Episcopal Church, 130 Muir Station Road. Donations at the door will be greatly appreciated. Tonight is the "kick-off" of events for the Remembering Martinez - Decades Reunion. There will be a dinner from 6:00 to 11:00 pm at the Boys and Girls Club. Saturday, August 18, the activities begin with a picnic at Rankin Park from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. On Saturday night from 7:00 to 11:00 pm is the Street Dance and Car Cruise on Main Street. Sunday, August 19 is the breakfast at the Boys and Girls Club from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Other activities for the alumni are special events at the Martinez Museum on Saturday from 9:00 am until noon and on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Alumni are encouraged to visit the museum and record their memories of Alhambra High and growing up in Martinez. The interviews will be videotaped in a sound booth.

Alumni and everyone else in town will want to visit the 43rd Annual Art in the Park on Sunday, August 19 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Susana Park will be the setting for this exciting event. There will be arts, crafts, food, drink, and live music. Admission is free.

Happening at the Martinez Library: Tuesday, August 21 - A Flutopia Summer Concert featuring Tracy Darden from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Don't miss this opportunity to relax and enjoy the sounds of the summer. This event is free and is appropriate for adults and families.

Gardening Series: Navlet's is hosting a class on drought tolerant and native gardens on Saturday, August 18, at 10:00 am. Visit www.navletsgardens.com for additional information.

Don't forget our Farmer's Market on Thursday and Sunday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
