October 6 - Martinez Restaurant Tour - 1:30 to 4:00 pm - This year is featuring a record 20 participating restaurants: Barrel Aged, Family Kitchen, Pacifica Pizza, Hot Dog Depot, Luigi’s, Compass Star, Starbucks, Little Hunan, Smokey D’s, Marty O’s Pizzeria, Creek Monkey, Haute Stuff, Whiskey Lane, La Tapatia, Legal Grounds Café, Lemongrass, Roxx on Main, Sunflower Garden, Main Street Sweets, and the California Magic Dinner Theater…sample items from all these restaurants for only $15.00 per person.

October 6 - Martinez Bocce Federations Championships - The Final Four - Bocce fans won’t want to miss out, play begins at 4:00 pm at the Martinez Bocce Courts.

October 6 - Shell / MEF Pasta Feed - The Kiwanis Club of Martinez and the Martinez Rotary Club are once again joining forces to put on the “pre-dinner” for the Run for Education. The dinner is being held at the Martinez Senior Center, 818 Green Street from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The price is $15.00 per person and children under 6 are free. All proceed will be donated to the MUSD schools.

October 7 - 10th Shell / MEF Run for Education - 925.313.5562, leave your name and telephone number - Pre-registration is $25.00 for the 5K and $30.00 for the 10K, day of registration is $30.00 for the 5K and $35.00 for the 10K. Registration is easy, log on to: www.theschedule.com and scroll down to the Shell / MEF Run.

October 13 - Martinez Library presents Author Marty Brounstein giving a presentation on his book Two Among the Righteous Few: A Story of Courage in the Holocaust. This event is free and begins at 1:30 pm.

October 13 - Rock Around the Clock at a benefit for Christmas for Everyone at the Veterans Memorial Hall, dress to impress in your 50’s best! The fun begins at 7:30 pm, advance tickets are $15.00 pp and $20.00 at the door. There are a limited amount of tickets, don’t be left out, call 925.228.2233 for reservations.

October 15 - 20 - “Clear Your Fines!” at the Martinez Library - This is an opportunity for teens to clear any overdue fines - check in at the desk with your library card or valid photo ID to prove you are in a grade between 6 - 12 or are between ages of 13 - 18 and attend one of the Read-In Sessions and read for one hour.

October 20 - Zombie Brew Crawl - 2:30 to 5:30 pm - 20 local craft beers. There is a free shuttle from North Concord BART Station, and an after party at Creek Monkey Tap House. Tickets are $25.00 in advance, $35.00 at the door. www.zombiebrewcrawl.com
