Save Mount Diablo Bicycle Challenge

Ride the mountain to save the mountain. The 33rd annual Save Mount Diablo Challenge climbs Mount Diablo’s Southgate Road for a gorgeous timed bike ride.  The traditional course, now included in the Tour of California route, is 11.2 miles with 3,249 feet of elevation gain.  Last year, a Junction course was  added which ends at the mountain’s junction spanning 6.5 miles and 1,578 feet of elevation gain. Cyclists get to enjoy the challenge of climbing Mount Diablo’s slopes on a closed road followed by a celebration at the finish with awards, food and beverages.  Cyclists who complete the traditional course in under an hour receive an infamous  “One Hour” shirt.  Proceeds benefit Save Mount Diablo’s land preservation programs. Registration is first come first served so sign up today!
