The trio draws its material from the rhythm-driven melodies (and sometimes off-color lyrics) of George Jones, Rose Maddox, Buck Owens, and Hazel Dickens, as well as traditional old-time fiddle tunes and bluegrass standards. Genre-bending in the California style, they’ve cherry-picked music that appeals to their blend of faux-intellectualism and love of silliness.
