If flooding occurs, residents can retrieve empty sand bags at two locations. One is in front of City Hall. The other is at the public works corporation yard at 300 Alhambra Avenue.

There are five locations where Martinez residents can pick up sand. They are Nancy Boyd Park, F Street off Alhambra Avenue, Ferry and Allen streets, Rankin Park and Highland Avenue Park.

The storms might also dampen some of the holiday activities planned around Martinez.

Among them is the Children's Light Parade, scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday on Main Street.

The storms might also make holiday shopping a little more challenging.
