Sirens This Morning Reportedly A False Alarm: No Shelter In Place

KCBS reporting that Shell Refinery reported the alert was inadvertent.

There is no Shelter In Place alert in Martinez. KCBS Radio is reporting that the refinery "inadvertently" triggered the alert to Contra Costa County. Martinez Patch will continue to follow this story throughout the day.

Two refinery emergencies in the same week.... County officials need to get on this. If operations are sloppy, heavy fines are in order. We need to start valuing clean air, water, and soil more than fossil fuels.

The emergency alert was up for a while. It appears there was a delay in taking off the emergency alert and putting up the one that says it was accidental on the website and sending a phone alert to say that it was accidental.

The original alert came across as a text message to me at 7:17 and the correction at 7:39
