Saturday was not only Cinco de Mayo, but the so-called super moon, as it came closer to the earth than at any other time this year.
It was a night when photographers, professional and amateur, whipped out their SLRs and iPhones and snapped at the sky.
At least 30 people showed up to an Arnold Drive parking lot to get a clear shot of the moon as it rose above Mt. Diablo, according to photographer Robert Rothgery. Another ten or so returned on Sunday.
If you were one of those, and you're happy with the results, share your photos with us.
Rothgery took these stunning moonrise portraits from the parking lot on Saturday.
