Readers' Choice: Where Is The Best Cocktail In Martinez?

Vote for your favorite in the poll, and if we've missed somewhere, tell us about it in the comments.

At one time, Martinez was a place famous for its drinking establishments. As Martinez native Tom Greerty recently said, Ferry Street was the wild west, with bars up and down the street.

It is said by long-time residents that many decades ago, Martinez was where you went to drink, and then take a ferry to Benicia if you were, um, lonely and in need of temporary companionship.

These days, things are pretty tame by comparison. With the recent closing of The Station, there are even fewer barstools on which to perch and order an exotic libation, or a shot and a beer.

But there are still some out there, and they include Sunflower Garden, Ray's Lounge, Whiskey Lane, La Tapatia and Carrow's.

If we've missed your favorite bar, tell us in the comments. And vote for your favorite place to imbibe in the poll. It will close on Friday at 5 p.m., and we'll announce the winner shortly thereafter.

While this covers the downtown area of Martinez - and the location I voted for...one spot missing is The Cue & Brew up on Arnold.......
