Monday, Feb. 18 is President's Day, a national holiday.
There will be no mail delivery on Monday. Federal and state offices will be closed, as will most banks.
Martinez City Hall will be closed, including police headquarters, though there will be no reduction of regular police services and patrol.
Public schools throughout the city will be closed on Monday.
Most stores will be open, as will many restaurants, and more than a few department stores will undoubtedly use the holiday as an excuse for a sale.
So, if you have the day off, relax and enjoy it. If you are not a fan of the sitting president, take some time and reflect on one you did like. If you don't like any of them, you can always take in one of the sales.
