Pet of the Week

Meet Ernie the Bunny

Ernie is an adorable rabbit with gray fur. He is looking for a loving home, indoors. Rabbits make great indoor pets who bond with their owners and live longer. Ernie is a very friendly rabbit who enjoys interaction. He can be held, but may be shy at first. Rabbits tend to be reserved until they feel comfortable with you, then their personalities shine. They make great companions for older children and adults. Ernie is very easy-going and enjoys being petted. He’ll sit still for you so you can pet or groom him. Ernie has silky-soft fur that’s grey on the outside, and white on his belly.

Like any pet, rabbits need stimulation. Rabbits are intelligent and enjoy plastic toys, cardboard boxes, paper bags, and toilet paper roles as toys. Rabbits should get unlimited hay such as Timothy hay. They eat vegetables, pellets made from vegetables, and fruit. Fruit is a treat and rabbits should only have an inch slice per day. Ernie enjoys eating dried papaya. Of course, being loved by someone is Ernie’s favorite treat.

Ernie would make a wonderful friend and companion. Ernie will need to be neutered. He would enjoy living inside your home in a condo or a kennel, made cozy and comfortable just for him. Rabbit owners need to interact with their rabbit daily. Rabbits are most active in the early morning and evening. They develop very strong bonds with people and even other animals, and will want quality time with those they love. (A676445)
