Pet of the Week

Meet Betty the Bunny

Betty is an all white short-haired rabbit and she is looking for a loving home. Betty likes to be petted and for the right person, she’ll let you hold her. Her fur is so soft and she has a very sweet demeanor. She is easy to love and will love you back unconditionally. Betty would be an excellent indoor pet who could be litter box trained. Rabbits have complex personalities that they will share with you when they feel more comfortable around you. Betty would make a charming companion to older children and adults. As an indoor pet, she’d need a safe and cozy cage or kennel to stay or sleep in, but she’ll be a joy to behold as she hops around your house. Betty does not eat most "people food," but enjoys hay, vegetables, and some fruits. Before you can adopt Betty, she will need to be spayed.

The Contra Costa Animal Shelter provides a variety of handouts with information on how to care for a pet rabbit, like Betty. Stop by Contra Costa Animal Shelter this week to meet Betty, and other animals ready for adoption.

Contra Costa Animal Services is located at 4800 Imhoff Place and is
open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm, and Wednesday from 10:00am – 7:00pm.
