Martinez Police Find A Marijuana Grow House In Oakland

Police arrest a man in connection with an August arrest for a Martinez grow house.

Martinez police, with the help of the FBI, Oakland and Alameda police, discovered an 80-plant marijuana grow house on Ninth Avenue in Oakland, a month after Martinez police arrested two brothers for a similar grow house in Martinez.

When they went in search of the suspect at a home in Alameda, however, police initially went to the wrong house, according to the San Francisco Chronicle and CBS Channel Five

According to Martinez police Lt. Jon Sylvia, 43-year-old Sang Ung and his brother Mang, 27, were arrested on suspicion of growing marijuana in a Martinez home in August.

On Wednesday, police agencies served search warrants related to the case at the Oakland home, where they discovered the grow house.

Unrelated warrants were also served on a home in Alameda, Sylvia said, where the elder Sang was arrested. Sylvia said that police discovered four guns in that home.
