Local Author Now Broadcasts Radiance

Tamara Gerlach is hosting a weekly Internet radio show.

A bestselling Martinez author is now also an Internet radio host.

, whose book Cultivating Radiance is a bestseller in the Happiness category on Amazon.com, is now hosting the weekly radio show Radiant Living. Her guests discuss various aspects of finding, tapping into and expressing interior and exterior joys that are, some insist, hidden in plain sight throughout our everyday lives.

“I never expected to have a radio show,” Gerlach said recently. “When I first started promoting my book, I was terrified to be interviewed on the radio. Then, after a while, it got to be fun, and easy.”

Gerlach, who is a professional life coach, also has several coaches of her own, and her social media coach suggested she get her own radio show. These days, as with other entertainment distribution channels such as music, having your own radio show on the Internet is not difficult. It just takes willingness, a broadband connection, and tenacity. Gerlach has all three.

“I have people scheduled through the end of the year,” she said. “All of my guests help people to turn up their light. When I interview them, I get to learn how to do that, too.”

She does the show through Blog Talk, an Internet site that requires only a phone line in which to interview subjects.

“I do the show from here in my house,” she said. “Sometimes you hear the train go by, or the dogs barking, things like that. It helps add a comforting feel, like a conversation. You hear a lot of negative stuff on news radio. I want to be the antithesis of that. I always ask for tools and tips that people can use and do right away.”

Her first guest, Ron Abram, appeared on the show in August. Gerlach didn’t spend a lot of time prepping for that interview – she and Abram have been a couple for the past five years. He was on because he just had major heart surgery, and the show was about healing the heart.

Gerlach is going to have a virtual book launch on Amazon on Oct. 12. Stay tuned to Martinez Patch for more details on that event.

Radiant Living airs each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Go to Blog Talk Radio and type Tamara Gerlach into the search bar.
