Lady Jane and Giovanni Invite You to Get to Know Them

A Lady and a Gentleman Who Happen to be Cats

Lady Jane is a 1 year old, domestic long hair, brown and white tiger. She has been spayed. This lady is so sweet and loving! She is a little shy, but that just makes her more charming. Lady Jane has the softest fur that you will love to touch. She will need some brushing, but that will make time for the two of you to bond.  Although she is only 1 years old, she is very mature for her age. She’d rather be petted than run around chasing a toy. She is relaxed and easy-going. She makes you feel loved by the way she pays attention to you and cuddles up to you.  Lady Jane is an adorable, wonderfully soft, kind and loving lady who will make a great friend and companion. Giovanni is a 3 year old, domestic short hair, black, neutered male. Giovanni is a complete gentleman who is calm and sophisticated. He is very gentle and caring and has beautiful green eyes. He is also a wise cat, which you can see when you meet him. Giovanni gets along with other cats and treats them with consideration. He is an extremely mellow guy. After he has enjoyed some time with you, getting petted, maybe a scratch behind his ear, he will be content for awhile and peacefully nap. He is a little shy and doesn’t like loud noises. There is something very special about Giovanni. Sometimes you think you are helping an animal by giving them some of your time or attention, but Giovanni made me feel like he was really helping me. Giovanni is wonderful guy who will be a life-long friend and companion. (A574340)

Black cats are more difficult to adopt than other cats because people have superstitions about them. A superstition is an irrational belief that is maintained by ignorance. I adopted a black cat from the Contra Costa Animal Services and he is the best thing that ever happened to me. I love him so much and he makes me laugh every day. It’s up to all of us to educate those who are superstitious about black cats that the pure love and acceptance that our pets bring us is one of the greatest gifts you will ever receive in your life. All pets deserve to be loved and all pets have so much love to give, and the love that we share with our pets means everything and is the only thing that matters.

For those of you interested in adopting a cat, consider a senior cat! During the month of June, when you adopt a senior cat (7 years and older) all adoption fees will be waived.

The shelter has many adorable kittens ready to adopt as well.

Visit Contra Costa Animal Services this week to meet Lady Jane, Giovanni, and other animals ready for adoption.

Contra Costa Animal Services is located at 4800 Imhoff Place and is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm, and Wednesday from 10:00am – 7:00pm. You can reach them at 925-335-8300.

When in doubt, don't. Your safety when you travel is always the most important and when you areRead More concerned about something, asking is good, but remember any town now has people with nothing better to do and your car etc. might be just what they are looking for to break in or worse. I'm a worry wart, but, no one is safe all the time even in cute, sweet, old fashioned Martinez.

I have found it's very hard to find a parking spot there. Another negative is the number of theRead More "constant outsdoorsmen" types lurking all around. I've been confronted several times and worried about leaving my car there.

The Fire Crew worked very late into the night and into the next morning. The Police were alsoRead More working nearby, picking up some of the dead baby animals that were hit on the road, displaced by the fire.

Hi Robert, Thanks for dropping in and checking out the blog. The new Patch look is so 'new' as I amRead More still learning to navigate through. Just updated it and added the link to my film review. Thanks again. Cheers!

I am happy to know that Mr. Behan's review of "STID" is now available. Might we knowRead More where it is available? Perhaps I am just an Apple lovin' technopeasant, but despite my frantic serial clicking on text without links, I could not find the actual story. Alas and alack I may never know why there is no darkness in "...Into Darkness" (or Lightness). Oh, and welcome back Jim!

Do City Council members still get free parking passes as perk?

The main reason I don't go to any of the businesses downtown is the lack of parking. What littleRead More there is is taken up by the owners of these establishments. God forbid they park somewhere else less convenient so actual paying customers can frequent their businesses.

Jim, then that's yet another penalty for showing up for jury duty. The system needs a big overhaul.Read More
