Flag Raising Ceremony This Morning At The 9/11 Memorial Site

The 8:45 a.m. ceremony will be a brief one, and everyone is invited to attend.

A flag raising ceremony to honor those who died on the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 will take place at the city's 9/11 memorial by the Amtrak Station.

The Martinez Police Department's Honor Guard will lead the ceremony, which will only last a few minutes. The memorial site features steel girders that came off of one of the Twin Towers, which were brought down by a terrorist attack on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. Over 3,000 people died as a result of the attacks.
