Monday Is The Deadline To Vote For The Holiday House Of Your Choice

Bill Schilz's solar powered lights and the Walnut Street Christmas House are competing this year in Patch's Deck The House contest, which could win $100,000 for Martinez public schools.

We now have two entries in the contest: Bill Schilz has entered his home to represent Martinez in the Patch Deck The House contest. His lights are powered by a solar powered system, so in additionl to being dazzling, he's also very green.

And the Walnut Street Christmas House has also been entered.

The winner of this nationwide contest will receive $100,000 for their city's public schools. You can vote here, and you can vote every day.

If you know of another home that should be entered, you can do that, too.

Here’s how the contest works. Through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by uploading a photo to the contest entry form on the site. During that same time period you and your neighbors will also be able to vote for your favorite festive home. The winning entry will be forwarded to a national Patch judge that will select 24 finalists. Each finalist will receive $500 that they can apply to their December electric bill.

From Dec. 30 through Jan. 8 you will be able to vote for the Best Decked House in all of Patch. The grand prize winner’s school district will receive a $100,000 check from Patch.
