City Council Salaries and Benefits
Here is a rundown of the Mayor and City Council's salary and benefits.
Earlier this month, the grand jury revealed the results of its "investigation" on salaries and benefits of elected officials. Because Martinez gave the panel the wrong information, our city originally was called out for having the highest benefit package, and among the highest salaries.
Turns out that, in reality, we rank about with Pleasant Hill, sort of in the medium range, when it comes to what our elected officials receive for their work. And, by the way, all of this information is available for the asking at City Hall. It doesn't require a grand jury investigation, just a simple request. It lacks the drama of an investigation, but makes getting the information much simpler. So here, for your edification, is a breakdown of the 2009/10 salaries and benefits of the mayor and members of the City Council.
