Children's Light Parade Cancelled Due To Rainy Weather

Ice rink also cancelled, but indoor events will still be held on Friday night

The annual Children's Light Parade in downtown Martinez has fallen victim to the weather.

The city's website announced today the holiday parade on Main Street has been cancelled due to expected rainy weather Friday evening.

The ice rink as well as the jumps and other activities on Main Street were also cancelled.

Those events were supposed to be part of the city's annual holiday celebration on Friday night.

Indoor events such as the Gingerbread House, Candy Cane Lane and the Reindeer Stop will still be held.

In addition, the Snow Park has been moved indoors to BowRack at the corner of Estudillo and Escobar.

Santa's House will also be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The tree lighting is still scheduled for 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.
