Isn't this kind of thing a bit normal for a 17 or 18 year old kid ? Playing hooky ? Sure glad the internet wasn't around when I was in H.S.

Do you have additional info, such as vehicle driven, general area where he lives? This would be helpful if you want people to help find him.

So far that's the only information we have available. We'll post more as we get it.

He lives in the Village Oaks neighborhood. He lives 4 houses away from me.

Most teens at least connect with one or two people if they are leaving or not showing up where they are supposed to be. It sounds as if Ryan has not connected with anyone. Praying for his family.

Not that many kids "play hooky". I didn't; and none of my kids did, either. I absolutely wouldn't assume that first when a parent is worried that his/her child is missing.

There may have been a possible sighting in the Sacramento area at the American River College. Any ideas as to where or how to send this link to any other community blogs in that area?

@Maria you can contact the Patch site for the area you believe Ryan was spotted in and request they re-post this alert.

Your comment is awaiting moderation. Our family is praying, we’ve got a candle in our window. This boy is treasured and loved and cared for. Please come home Ryan, know in your heart that there is much still to love. There is still much to smile about. There is a beautiful world to enjoy, hands to hold you and arms to hug you with. your friends and your family want only for you to be home…happy…safe. if you come home there will be much to be thankful for. Tonight here in our community of Martinez we are all focused on the same things: finding you, hugging you, bringing you home…safe…because we love you!

Does anyone know if there are any new developments, or if an organized search effort is still underway? There is a real shortage of information for people who would like to help. Why have the police not held some kind of press conference to inform and organize the community based on any leads they might have? All we're hearing are rumors and bit and pieces of information. So many of us are sick at heart over this, my own kids are Ryan's age. This is the first thing I think about in the morning, and the last thing at night, I can't imagine how hard this must be for his family. Let's bring Ryan home!

The students at the school have put together some flyers for volunteers to place around Martinez. We too are praying for Ryan and his family even though we don't know them. As parents of 8 children of our own, each and every one is very dear to us. We cannot imagine our lives without a single one of them. Ryan, if you read these comments know that you are predestined with a plan for God's purpose. You are loved not only by your family, but also by your community. We pray that you are safe and that you come home quickly. Because a lot of people are concerned for you.

I agree with Stacey, there has not been a lot of information coming forward from the PD. If in fact he's been spotted in the area of Sacramento as stated in another comment, shouldn't that be mentioned by someone? The Martinez community as a whole are concerned for this young man.
