Art Around Us: Feburary Exhibits in Martinez

A rundown of the art exhibits in Martinez, including work for Black History Month, 'New Beginnings,' 'Eros II' and more.

Happy February! Artists in Martinez are busy! Black History is being celebrated with the artwork of B. Jaxon in the AC5 exhibit in the County Supervisors Chambers in the Administration Building at 651 Pine Street in downtown Martinez. The building is open between 8am and 5pm.

The Martinez Gallery, 630 Court Street, is showing the exhibit "New Beginnings" through February. M - F 11am - 3pm and Saturdays 9am- 1pm.  Open for the wine stroll Saturday the 9th til 5pm.

Debra Dodson Presents: Eros II, a celebration of the human body, is at the "I've Been Framed" shop at 411C Ferry Street through February, Reception Saturday, February 9th, from 6pm to 9pm.

Among the MAA Rotating Exhibits around town are my paintings in the H.& R. Block business on Alhambra Avenue through February.

SWAN Day applications may be downloaded from the MAA webside: www.martinezarts.org SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day will be March 30 at the old train depot on Ferry Street.
