Art Around Us

Art Around Us introduces creative Martinez and features upcoming artistic events in town.

Welcome to the Dorrie Langley blog on Art in Martinez!

Let me introduce myself... I have been a member of the Martinez Arts Association for over thirty years and I have been painting for over fifty years.

My paintings have been in local galleries, including:

  • Shakey Hand Gallery and the Martinez Gallery in Martinez
  • The Moraga Gallery
  • The Benicia Corozone Gallery
  • The Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek

I have taught Art classes through the City of Martinez and After School Enrichment Programs at local schools. I often participate in public art in outdoor venues.

Coming up this year, I will have a few pieces of artwork in the new "Eros II" exhibit to be held at the I've Been Framed shop at 411 Ferry Street from Feb. 8 through Feb. 29.

Saturday, March 30th will be SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day at the old Train Depot.

Saturday, April 20 will be "Earth Day" at the John Muir House.

I agree, but the money is going to other places...whatever they are.
