Viewfinder: Martinez Farmer's Market

Ahhhhh... farm fresh fruits and vegetables have finally hit Main Street. Rejoice!

It was a warm spring day as the new Martinez Farmers Market celebrated its opening on May Day. There was no May pole to be found, but for the kids there was a bouncy house, a clay play station and a spot to construct Mother's Day cards. Many other familiar vendors made a reappearance with their beautiful spring produce, meats, pasta and pappadums. I don't know about you, but our family will be eating more healthfully for the warm summer months and into the winter thanks to the return of our farmer's market. Strawberry-stained hands are de rigueur  from here on out! Tip: try Ortiz Farms' organic berries, and get there early -- they were sold out by noon. I'd invite you to come by our house but we're not sharing.

Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM on Main Street between Starbucks and La Tapatia.

Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM on Court Street at Main.
