in Martinez will celebrate in the spirit of St. Valentine's Day with a bold new art exhibit curated by Debra Dodson, local art photographer and exhibit coordinator.  For three weeks, the popular downtown frameshop will transform itself into a unique gallery which will present captivating art and photography that celebrates the human figure.  This juried exhibit aims to showcase the beauty of the human form, as portrayed in various styles of artistic exploration, from the avant-garde to the sublime.

Cathy Riggs, proprietor of I've Been Framed says, "These paintings, sculptures and photographs reveal an eclectic and contemporary look at an endless subject of fascination." For fine art aficionados, this exhibit will also include an original painting for sale by famed artist Jeremy Lipking, whose masterful works are beyond the imagination for skill and realism.  This painting will be showcased on opening day, Wednesday, February 8 and during the downtown Main Street Wine Stroll on Saturday, February 11 from 2:00 to 5:30 pm.  Several local artists, including a few who will be showing for their first time, are excited to be exhibiting their new works.

One of the city's favorite bands will be hosting an array of special guests tonight as they celebrate their fifth year at this long-time downtown club. Come join Chris Bryant, Jenny Starmack and the band as they play host to the cream of the Bay Area musical crop. It's a night that promises to be big time fun.

Sunday, Feb. 12

Let's face it - it doesn't get any fresher than this. This year's market is open all year, and features meat and fish, locally grown produce, hand made soap, yummy deserts, and live entertainment. You're bound to run into friends and neighbors as well, so there's really no reason to stay home.

- 6pm to 9pm

Come down and enjoy great food and the nostalgic sounds of traditional jazz and blues, featuring the great vocal stylings of Trish MacIntosh. This is a downtown entertainment secret you'll want to know about.

- 7pm to 7:45pm

If you need a little less stress in your life, this is a great way to learn to manage it. Take a meditation class for beginners, and come an hour early for a yoga class. Donations are accepted for each, but not required.
