Roxy's Photo Booths has been in business since August. It provides photo booths for all kinds of events. The business is owned by Brian and Shauna Sumpter and is run out of their Martinez home. Brian said the venture began when he built a photo booth for his wife's surprise birthday party in October 2010 and the idea took off. The company is doing booth business at Pyramid Alehouse establishments throughout the year. They've done events at Chevron offices in San Ramon and Monte Vista High School in Danville. The Fortune City Chinese restaurant has apparently vacated its location at 6660 Alhambra Ave. in the Virginia Hills area. A new restaurant is apparently going in.
Some of our readers have written saying the Auntie Anne's pretzel shop in Sunvalley mall appeared to be closing. The rumors aren't true. Shannon Zimmerman from Auntie Anne's corporate offices says their Concord store is "definitely not closing." There was some remodeling going on and that might have caused the confusion.
A furnishings store has closed its doors but is still offering merchandise online. Dunhaven Place has shuttered its business at 4691 Clayton Road. However, it is still selling its cottage style furnishings on its website.
A new place to train dogs is opening soon. Zoom Room will hold a grand opening in mid-February. The facility will feature indoor training facilities for dogs to learn obedience and other skills. A Paper Source store is reportedly opening in April in the downtown area. This was first reported in the Beyond The Creek blog. Job openings for the store are also listed on several employment sites, although the shop isn't listed yet on the company's website. The specialty paper store's location hasn't been made public yet, but Beyond The Creek says it may be inside the building on Botelho Drive that used to house The Right Start store.

The Carl's Jr. restaurant in the Citrus shopping center closed up shop on Friday. The Contra Costa Times reported the franchise's lease was expiring and the owner decided to close the restaurant at Oak Grove Road and Citrus Drive rather than renew.
a consignment shop that specializes in the resale of women's clothing, shoes and accessories, has been open since Dec. 1. The shop is located at 1630 Contra Costa Blvd., Suite A.
