Readers' Choice: Where's The Best Burrito In Town?

In the fourth entry in the Martinez Patch Readers' Choice series, we ask you to identify the city's best burrito.

Two weeks ago we gave you the chance to weigh in on the best sandwich in Martinez. This week, Martinez Patch wants you to tell us where to get the best burrito.

Poll votes, stars and reviews, and comments below this piece all will factor in to our selection, to be announced Friday. Click "Keep me posted" below for an email update.

Cinco de Mayo

Scroll down to take the poll.

If there's another spot we missed, start a write-in campaign in the comments section below. In the event of a tie, we will break it based on the comments, so please explain your choice.

The poll opens at 5 a.m. Monday and closes at 9 a.m. Friday. Come back later that day for the results.

(Because our poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, comments and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey.)

Chavindas. Hands down. Not only are all the ingredients fresh, the staff and owners are great people and very involved in our community.

Ahh, this is the quest of my life in every town I live... when the Mexican place at the Lucky shopping Center closed I became adrift- can't wait to hear people's choices. I have resorted to Chilpolte as a backup- not bad, but I need somewhere closer. Help me people! My favorite of all time in Martinez was the Vegetarian fried tofu (I know, weird) burrito at the old Lupe's!

The taco truck in the Ace Truck Box parking lot!! Sorry I don't know the name, but I think they're a part of La Primavera.

Cinco de Mayo is my favorite place for burritos...I especially like the Carnitas burrito with just: carnitas, beans, fresh onions and pico de gallo sauce...meets my triple test: Great Flavor, Abundant quantities & Cheap...Can't lose combo.

Because the poll is for our favorite burrito, I have to choose Los Ponchos for their Chicken Happy Burrito Wet! It's dlicious, having all my favorite items and enough for at least two meals, for me anyway, making them expense worthy as well. However, in agreement with Frances Vaught, Chavinda's is very active in supporting our community and their "basic" burrito, which I have tried at AHS events, is vey good. And, in all fairness, perhaps they have a fantastic specialty burrito that I haven't tried. I will make a point to try and do so. But for now, a big THANK YOU to those at Chavindas for all you do!!!!

Hard to say which Burrito is best when you like them all!! Maybe the best one is the one that's in front of me when I'm Hungry.

La Primavera! Well, I have big burritos but they were like 80% rice. I want 0% rice. Just empty filler. And I believe they are or were the ones with the truck in frount of Ace truck box. Is La Premavera the one on the sharp turn on Court Street/Pacheco? Anyway, I liked them, but also a lot of the others ones listed, even taco bell from time to time. So hard to pick on this one for sure. I do miss the one at Nob hill where you could watch them and point out what you wanted in it. Now I'm hungry for a burrito.

That's La Primavera's truck.

I like quite a few of the above, but Cinco is always my go to burrito place. La Tapatia is an excellent choice also (though a little pricier). and just FYI, Los Panchos isn't even in Martinez ;)

I agree, the vegetarian tofu burito at Lupe's was the best!

Very Very Very hard choice - Being from San Diego, I have longed for good Mexican food in Northern California for 20+ years. Cinco De Mayo is very good, but my "Best" vote goes to La Primavera, even the burritos from the truck are amazing and reasonably priced!

Sorry Martinez. I love LaPrimavera for Mexican here but...there is a new, all-organic Mexican restaurant on Contra Costa Blvd in P Hill by Rotten Robbies. Everything is organic and hand made, including tortillas and meats. Homemade chorizo . Yay! http://www.elaguilataqueria.com/
