No More Martinez Taco Bell

The popular chain has closed its Martinez store.

Like the seasons, like the stars, like the elusive tinglings of a first love, the Taco Bell on Muir Station Road was there, and now it's gone.

Though it's not clear when it closed, there is no doubt that the popular fast food eatery, which was especially a draw for high schoolers with not much money and great hunger, is no more in Martinez.

A call to Taco Bell headquarters on Tuesday resultd in a promise from a public relations person to find out more information and let me know. But so far, silence from the company that uses Doritos as taco shells.

No word on whether the recent opening of Chipotle on Arnold Dr. had any effect on sales at Taco Bell. And it is rumored that the chain will open a new store in Martinez, but again, that has not been confirmed by the company.

So, tell us--do you have fond memories of this Taco Bell? Are you sorry to see it go?
