Lemongrass Bistro Toasts The Muir Heritage Land Trust
A popular Martinez eatery and a local artist give back to the community in a fun-filled evening.
It was a pretty hush-hush event but the Lemongrass Bistro was packed Thursday night for the Muir Heritage Land Trust fund raiser. Rick Mikaels, of the Henry Wine Group, was on hand with a complimentary wine tasting. The wine was a nice addition to an event focused on preserving land in Contra Costa County.
Local artist Sally Ann Rodriguez came to support the cause with a donation of an acrylic on burlap and wood dubbed "The Whale" and to celebrate the installation of her work on the walls of the Asian fusion restaurant. Donations to the Muir Heritage Land Trust, which has helped to preserve more than 2,500 acres of pristine natural land in Contra Costa County were made via a silent art auction, through closed envelopes and online.
