Chamber of Commerce CEO Out After Four Months

Mary Peinado came to the Martinez chamber from Rio Vista.

Mary Peinado, who was hired as the CEO of the Martinez Chamber of Commerce in April, has been relieved of her duties, according to a release from the Chamber.

"The Martinez Chamber of Commerce announced today that Mary Peinado, CEO, left her position under mutual agreement with the Board of Directors," the release states.

“We appreciate the work Mary did while working for the Chamber,” said Marie Knutson, Chairperson. “We wish her much success in her future pursuits.”

The board will seek a replacement, Knudson said.

Should have hired Charley Daly in the first place!! The Chamber of Commerce missed the boat there. It is not too late. Call Charley!! He is a dynamo and maybe just what we need in Martinez. He has the experience, the know-how to get things done, and is very personable. We would be pretty damned lucky to have him if he would ever consent to an offer.

Of course there is a story. Mary was outright fired from the position. Mary never resigned or asked to leave.

Oh yeah, the excecutive board is lying when it said by "mutual agreement" if I didn't make it clear.

Are they that disfunctional? If so, seems like an epidemic in Martinez.

Hi I'm a 56 year old hard working man, after 30 years living and working in Martinez I thought this new CEO was a good fit. I believe this decision was not only irrational, but that this chamber is going in the downright wrong direction.
