Bosco'z Burgurz opens on Pacheco & Haven Street

Long time business returns just in time for summer.

The holiday weekend got off to a cool and delicious start with the opening of Boscoz Burgers at Pacheco Boulevard and Haven Street.

Friday's opening found dozens of patrons dining on burgers, sweet potato fries and all kinds of soft serve items.

Owner Dennis Davis was way too busy to talk, but he seemed to be enjoying the buzz of activity. Boscoz, (named after Davis’ pit bull), is the result of a dream to restore what was a hometown eatery here for over sixty years. Davis, in his relentless tenacity in the face of regulators and other challenges, has beat the odds and appears to have created -- or re-created -- a tasty Martinez icon.

Great soft serve ice cream. Just like I remembered. Next time I'll try the burger. Thank you Dennis for one more reason we now have to draw people into our town to eat!!!

The burgers are good, but I feel like the bun took away from the taste of the Burger. The buns should be smaller or the Burger patties should be thicker. The fries are amazing, and my root beer freeze was super good. I just wish I could taste more Burger and less bun :-)

I like the buns. They are good quality and have a little chew to them. I'm enjoying Bosco'z (albeit, sparingly, or hard work at Zumba would be counteracted) and the fact that we now have a good burger spot downtown and a place in the 'hood where families stroll to dinner and meet other families.
