North Pole Revue opens Dec. 2 at the Lesher Center for the Performing Arts in Walnut Creek.

Three Martinez performers are starring in the North Pole Revue, a delightful long-running holiday classic, presented from Dec. 2-11, 2011 at the Lesher Center for the Arts, 1601 Civic Drive, in Walnut Creek.

Three of the leading actors -- Mark Metzger, Michael Kirk and Kathryn Butler -- are from Martinez.  Mark and Michael attend Alhambra High School, and Kathryn attends Martinez Middle School.

Eight productions will be held on Friday evenings, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9, at 7:15 p.m.; Saturday afternoons and evenings on Dec. 3 and 10 at 2:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.; and Sunday afternoons on Dec. 4 and Dec.11 at 2:15 p.m.

The performances are presented by Center Stage Theater of Diablo Valley, which features teen actors from all over Contra Costa County.

The production is appropriate for young and old alike.  With songs by Barrett Lindsay Steiner and a witty script by Doña Foreman, the North Pole Revue features elves Jack and Dolly as they prepare for the holiday season.  With help from all of Santa’s elves, they take the audience on a madcap adventure to light the official holiday tree and kick start the holiday season.  Along the way, the audience will encounter dancing reindeer and trees, and then a final appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
