Where/When: Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. — 7 p.m.

Why Go: Although it’s a drive, Walnut Creek’s Art & Wine Festival is one of the top in the Bay Area, with handcrafted art, ethnic foods, music, regional microbrews and wines, and a grape stomping contest. This year there is a special expanded children’s area.
