Fall Concert Turns to Spring
Amphitheater Concert Rescheduled for Spring
The fall concert originally scheduled for Oct. 11, with Tower of Power as the headlining group, has been postponed and will be rescheduled for the spring according to a report released by the city of Martinez on Monday.
The concert, which was to be held at the John Muir Amphitheater, was rescheduled with hopes of Tower of Power being a part of it.
The Bay Area-based band was unable to commit to Martinez because of a potential conflict with other Bay Area venues.
“While we are disappointed that Tower of Power cannot play in October, we are excited about the positive feedback we have gotten from the community about an Amphitheater concert,” Martinez City Manager Phil Vince said.
The spring concert, which was approved by the Martinez City Council, will help the city study the possibility of a concert series for the summer and fall of 2014.
Meanwhile, the city will continue to seek sponsors and vendors for the event.
