UNITED

Scott Gordon - guitar
Robin Hartshorn - bass
Ron St. Jean - drums

A trio of local, East Bay, musicians who played together years ago have reunited to form United. They will perform their take on standards and other improvisational tunes by a diverse group of jazz guitar sound innovators such as John Scofield, Pat Martino, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Emily Remler and others.

Scott is an alumnus of the AHS, DVC and UCSB jazz ensembles, and played locally for almost 20 years with Between Friends and Nite Life. These groups were a local fixture at events such as Art in the Park, Fourth of July festivals, and a number of benefits and community fundraisers. He has an eclectic musical vocabulary, playing a wide variety of jazz styles within the United songbook, returning to Armando's stage after previous engagements with his former group.

Robin played in the CPHS Jazz Band.  DVC Jazz program-including Jazz Band,Jazz Composition and Music Theory. He has played w/ notables such as Mark Russo, David K. Mathews & Steph Burns. Rob has a strong background in Gospel music with funky overtones and a fluid feel on Straight Ahead Jazz.

Ron is an alumnus of the DVC music program.   While there he played in the big band and various jazz combos.  In recent years he has continued his musical education at Jazzschool in Berkeley.
