Martinez Moments — Add Your Pics & Clips!

We have some new photos in our gallery. Add your own by clicking "upload" and show off Martinez.

This is a remarkable city, full of sights and sounds that most who don't live here will never know. But we do. And this gallery is the place to share your photos and videos of life here. Whether its downtown shots, or birds at the waterfront, or the vistas of greenery or industry, or a sports star, or just some cute kids with adorable smiles - we want your images of Martinez life posted here.

Drop me a line and let me know you've done that (jim.caroompas@patch.com), and I'll feature it on the front section.

I love Martinez, never wanted to live anywhere else. I always say once you live in Martinez you can't leave.

My wife, Carolyn, agrees with you Carolyn. Something about her old Victorian "Talbart House" tugs at her heart strings. I am not so sure, options are good! Something about being in foreign lands is intriguing. The waves and sunsets in Mexico are hard to beat and friends are dear the world over. Getting away now and then is a good thing too!

We went on the Historical Home Tour..congratulations team! It was one of the best ever! Beautiful homes, gracious people, good weather. Thanks for the work it took to also get the wonderful antique cars in front of the homes. This shows off some of the best of Martinez..teamwork, volunteers, old beauty, good style and cookies. What more could you want? I love Martinez!

A beautiful day in Martinez for Alhambra High School's Homecoming Parade. In my opinion it is one of our best traditions and it is as special today for me as it was when my two children attended AHS! I love seeing the creativity that the classes and elementary schools use to develop their floats. My favorites this year were the "Curiouser and Curiouser" Sophmore float and the "Where is Waldo?" John Muir float. And if you were not hungry before, you certainly were after the Senior float passed! I really appreciate that the service clubs are included because they support our city's schools.

We just moved to Martinez, fleeing Berkeley and all of its madness. We are head over heels in love with Martinez - truly the best kept secret in the East Bay. Makes us a bit sad though, to see so many gorgeous buildings downtown with for rent and for sale signs. But don't get me wrong - we feel blessed to be living here, and hope to stay for many more years to come.

Who posted the photo of the Ferry? Great photo. Could I borrow it to use on Facebook?

No thanks. Too many people seem to dump their data cards into the gallery which readers have to tediously scroll through. Who wants to look at seventeen shots of the same street sign. This gallery needs to be curated because it is not effective. Do so and you might attract more competent photographers.

Anybody read about "Dog Town" in the Gazette?

To all Coo Coo County residents: Specifically Martinez: Attention! Quit telling everyone how friendly, beautiful and rewarding it is to live here. Before long we're going to be over run by those "other people". In the future, and when you have the desire to brag on our "Little Oasis" please tell them that we are over run with Republicans ! That should keep them away. Your Friendly Neighborhood Instigator.
