Week In Review: Lock It Down

Did you miss some of the stories from Martinez Patch earlier in the week?

Martinez teachers are going to lock classroom doors with a new security policy. School officials met with Martinez police in reviewing ways to make campuses safer. School districts nationwide are scrutinizing their security policies in the wake of the schoolroom massacre in Newtown, Conn.

There's a happy ending to this story that starts with a bad guy asking to borrow a (Christmas gift) iPhone from a teenager and then running off with it.

The police log got curious — a chair on fire on Brown Street — and curiouser — a woman came out of the Family Law Center to find the air had been let out of all four tires of her rental car.

Fire officials advised residents about fire prevention and changes in response times with the closing of Fire Station 12 on Shell Avenue.
