Sea Scouts Renovate 65-Foot Yacht

The Brigand was donated to the Martinez-based group by businessman Ray Collins.

The Sea Scouts are working hard on a piece of largesse.

The youths are rehabilitating a 65-foot yacht, "Brigand," donated by businessman Ray Collins to the Sea Scout Albatross crew in Martinez, according to a feature by Dana Guzzetti in the Contra Costa Times.

The teen volunteers gather early on Saturday mornings on Bethel Island, where they learn how to work on a classic yacht. The Sea Scout program has been active in Martinez since 1936. Teenagers from high schools all around Contra Costa County participate.
