'Proud Whopper' Wrapper Selling for $1,000 on eBay
But, hey! Shipping is free! The rainbow-colored sandwich wrappers were part of a one-day promotion last month in San Francisco.
Unwrinkled, not crinkled -- this is one paper-thin, pricey piece of pride.
"An authentic Burger King 'Proud Whopper' wrapper in perfect condition" is posted for sale on eBay with -- so far -- two bids and a selling price of $1,025.
This rainbow-themed wrapper is from the fast-food company's one-day, one-location promotion that coincided with San Francisco's Gay Pride Parade in June.
"Would look great framed on a wall!" advertises the online-auction seller, "bigrockandrollstar."
Shipping is free, and -- oh! -- expedited.
Burger King said, in a statement at the time, that introducing the rainbow wrapping for the parade was one way to become involved in the LGBT community, and that all "Proud Whopper" sandwich sales would be donated to scholarships benefiting LGBT high school seniors, according to an article in USA Today.
And Fernando Machado, senior vice president of global brand management at Burger King, even predicted the collectibility of the wrappers.
"Customers were folding the wrappers and taking them home with them," he told the reporter, adding that eventually they'll probably show up on eBay.
