Kickoff Event for Alhambra Hills Preservation Group

Free food, speakers and entertainment highlighted the Sunday afternoon gathering.

A local group determined to preserve the Alhambra Hills as open space held a kickoff event at Susana Park on Sunday.

The Alhambra Hills Open Space Committee and several other organizations offered food and a little connection with the history of Martinez. Today’s  efforts to preserve our open spaces brought reminders of  many of the past efforts to preserve the beauty of Martinez.  Two of the presenters at this event are featured in the videos:  Bill Wainwright is a former City Council member who speaks about how citizens and the city have collaborated in the past to preserve open spaces. David Seaborg , president of the  World Rain Forest Fund, explains several ways preserving open spaces can benefit our community.
