First Rainfall Arrives in Bay Area After Long Dry Spell
Sunny skies will return on Thursday.

The Bay Area will get a healthy dose of rain Tuesday and Wednesday, with a wet-weather system bringing much-needed moisture to the region for the first time in two months, according to the National Weather Service.
About half an inch of rain was expected Tuesday and Wednesday in local flatlands, and about an inch in the upper elevations, forecaster Diana Henderson said.
The rain will be absorbed quickly, since the ground is dry, she said. There is a slight possibility of thunderstorms in the North Bay, Henderson said. She said she does not anticipate any weather advisories being issued.
Highs will be in the 60s in much of the Bay Area throughout the week, with overnight lows in the 40s and 50s, Henderson said. Motorists are advised to slow down, since the rain will bring up oil that has seeped into the streets, Henderson said.
Sunny skies will return on Thursday as the system moves south toward Los Angeles, she said.
