Daylight Saving Time in a Word: 'Sunshine'

Yes, you lost an hour of sleep last night. The clocks sprung forward for spring at 2 a.m on Sunday, March 10.

That strange feeling is back. It's like being ever-so-slightly jet-lagged without having traveled — except in time.

Daylight saving time started at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 10. So, check your clocks.

Here's how commenters on the Martinez Patch Facebook page described what the time change means in a word or two:

"Insomnia"

"Sleepiness"

"Sun"

"BBQ"

"Tired"

"Early"

"Summer"

"Hourcide"

"Unnecessary"

"Sunshine"

What word would you use to describe daylight saving time? Comment below.

I didn't even realize it until I just read this. Thanks. Now to change the 120 clocks in and around our home. My truck is the funnist, which Is rocket science to reset. Also get on the ball to get to my job on time. Thanks again. BTW I love this time of year. Got my garden going yesterday! Also springing forward means I don't have to wait so long for the rest of the world to wake up, open. Life is so good right now I know I should knock on wood.

It's the Internet age. People across the world are a nanosecond away. Not only do away with DST which is no longer necessary because of flex time but time zones. Do everything by UTC (GMT). It might take about ten years to get used to but you'd know when your buddy in Angola was available without figuring out time zones. And BTW, according to the insurance industry the accident rate will be higher the next couple of weeks due to people trying to adjust to the time change.

I agree. We would get used to it. Also we should use the metric system for some things. Its so easy deviding 278 mm into three, much much harder if not impossile to devide inches and feet. Try deviding 2 inches into 3? And how about 10 hours in a day? 100 minutes in an hour, 100 seconds in a minute? Change it all. At the poles, the South pole has no time. It does, but they use the nearest air base, New Zeland time usually. If you find the pole, which moves around a bit I guess, the way it is you can walk through 24 time zones just as you would walk around a flag pole. Crazy.

btw I had a job this morning and I could not start working until 8 am, so I sat around for a half hour to burn time, then at 8 am truck time I started, check my cell and found out it was 9 am already. DANG. Enough with the time changes.

Paint the railroad trestle that crosses Alhambra. It's an eyesore.
