Poll: Do You Like The New Parking Meters On Main Street?

City Councilman Mark Ross, who works downtown, is sick of digging in his pockets for loose change. He's a fan of the credit card reading meters now installed on Main Street.

Ross and the other city council members hope to install similar meters throughout the entire downtown. This in spite of city staff's warning that the new meters have not paid for themselves.

The council has directed staff to get estimates for over 100 new meters that could be installed throughout the downtown. The estimates are expected sometime in June or July.

The new meters will be more convenient for jurors, who know longer get free parking from the city.

"This is one way we move Martínez forward," Ross said.

Have you tried the new meters? If so, tell us what you think about them in the comments.
