Football: Alhambra 41, College Park 41

Alhambra's opening football game had something for everybody, except a victory, nor a defeat.

The Bulldogs and visiting College Park played to a 41-41 overtime tie Friday night.

Senior Monte Cabrera  scored two touchdowns, one on offense and one on defense, Ciazonne Foster rushed for over 140 yards, scored twice and turned in a key defensive play, deflecting a PAT try  that kept the game tied.

Quarterback Josh Evans passed for two touchdowns, ran for another, and added a 2-point conversation. Evans completed 12 of 20 passes for 162 yards and did not throw an interception.

Senior tight end Zack Keever caught a 26-yard touchdown pass, Cabrera caught a 12-yard scoring toss and moments later returned a fumble 37 yards for another touchdown.

James Gonsalves added 36 yards rushing as Alhambra accumulated 356 offensive yards.

Alhambra travels to play at Rancho Cotate next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
