Assistance League of Diablo Valley Thanks Bank of America for Donating Backpacks and School Supplies

Since 2006, Assistance League® of Diablo Valley has enjoyed a Corporate Partnerships component, where employee volunteers from local businesses and corporations become hands-on involved with and make financial contributions to several of its philanthropic programs.  In early October of this year, when an Assistance League of Diablo Valley member volunteer took a risk by asking Bank of America to consider participating in the Corporate Partners Program that would eventually result in grant opportunities, little did she realize how Ameet Seth, Senior Vice President Diablo Central Market/Greater San Francisco Area, would turn this dream into a most meaningful transaction.

On October 24, Seth and 40 management team members welcomed Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s Corporate Partners committee members at the Bank of America banking center in Livermore, CA.  After a luncheon meeting, where Corporate Partners committee members Lesley Salo and Gerry Merola described Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s philanthropic programs’ need for financial support, BofA management team members, in assembly line fashion, stocked backpacks with school supplies that included notebooks, pencils, and pens.

This event demonstrated that Bank of America does not merely support the communities it serves; its team members believe, “Life’s better when we’re connected.”  To that end, Assistance League of Diablo Valley will deliver their donated backpacks to children in the greatest need in Contra Costa County communities.
