Two Women Stabbed Downtown: Another Woman Arrested

Police arrested a woman late Thursday night on two counts of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Two women were stabbed Thursday night at a local bar, and another woman was arrested for the assault, Martinez police say.

According to Sgt. Bryan Dodd, officers responded to reports of a fight outside of Whiskey Lane on Ferry Street. When they arrived, they found two women with stab wounds.

"Both females suffered stab wounds to their extremities and were later treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries," according to the release.

Police then received a call from a woman who said she had been involved in a fight at Whiskey Lane. After questioning, police arrested 39-year-old Wendy Michelle Chism of Martinez. She was booked into County Jail on two charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
