Martinez PD: Loud Noise, Downed Poles and Marijuana Cigarettes

Selections from the Martinez police log April 6 through April 9.

April 6

Get down and give me 10. Around 10:44 a.m., a resident by Hidden Valley Park complained that the "fitness boot camp" group was being too loud.

Intervention. At 12:29 p.m., a resident of Alhambra Avenue called to ask police for advice about a neighbor "who is living in filth."

What did that tree ever do to you? Just after 1 p.m., a man was reportedly throwing a large buck knife at a tree on the trail by the Westaire Pool. He was gone on police arrival.

Party crashers. Just after 4 p.m., people were allegedly joining a private event at Alhambra High School and "not paying" the entrance fee.

Too late for a hair cut. Around 9 p.m., the front door of Headways Hair Design on Main Street was found unlocked and open. 

Busted. About a quarter to midnight, residents of Franklin Canyon Road reported a suspected underage drinking party going on. Partygoers that "appeared to be 18" were reportedly walking down the street with alcohol.

April 7

Mouth washing needed. Residents of Fountainhead Ct. did not appreciate the loud, foul language coming from the neighbors around midnight.

Shell spill. Around 11:14 a.m., police were called to assist with a petroleum coke dust spill from a truck at the Shell Refinery.

Street cleaning? Just after 1 p.m., a woman riding a bike at Alhambra Avenue and Escobar Street was reportedly yelling obscenities and waving a broom stick. She was gone on police arrival.

Enough is enough. A resident of Midhill Road requested that a citation be issued to the people who have been playing a loud stereo at the back of the property... for 15 years.

Too much sake. Just after 7 p.m., a woman was found lying face-down on the sidewalk outside Young Sushi, apparently extremely drunk. She was arrested.

April 8

Windy day. At 6:12 a.m., a tree went down at Westaire Boulevard and Orchard View Avenue, blocking the road.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. In the 8 a.m. hour, a vehicle owner on Warren Street — who had forgotten to lock the car — and a vehicle owner on Kelly Street —who had remembered — reported that goods had been stolen from the cars.

More mail theft. At 9:16 a.m., a resident on Alhambra Avenue reported that incoming and outgoing mail had been stolen throughout the week.

More wind. A street light and pole fell into the road on Roseann Drive around 12:30 p.m.

More poles. 12:52 p.m., another pole went down on Rainbow Drive.

Incredible hulk. At 1:49 p.m., the YMCA reported that someone in the night had ripped the double door off its hinges and stolen a laptop from the desk.

Now that's what I call loud. Just before 4 p.m., the loud music on Masonic Street was rattling the neighbor's windows.

Puff, puff pass. At 5 pm., a woman sitting in a white truck at the Marina on Tarantino Drive was allegedly seen passing "a marijuana cigarette" to two teenagers on bikes.

April 9

Pitbull alert. At 7:34 a.m., calls started coming in about an "unfriendly, large" pitbull dog on the loose. It started at Parkway Drive and headed over to Howe Road and Pacheco Boulevard. The dog was gone on police arrival.

Just noticed. Around 1 p.m., someone reported that the tailgate from their truck had been stolen the day before from its spot on Tacoma Avenue Bush Street.

Neighborhood vigilante. Around 1 p.m., a resident on Trailview Cr. heard a gunshot and had a bullet come flying through the kitchen window. The resident suspected that neighbor had shot the gun. 

Drive-by mail theft. Just before 4 p.m., a report came in of from the Oakwood Cr/Westaire Bv area of a man and woman possibly stealing mail. They reportedly jumped out of an SUV and took the mail before jumping back in the vehicle and speeding off.

Public nakedness. Around 9:30 p.m., the resident living above Victoria's Cafe on Main Street was allegedly "hanging out of his window nude and yelling."
